Turkey Hunts  

     Our spring wild turkey hunting usually starts around the second week of April and runs for approximately one month. We have five separate seasons within a two  month period (April - May). The first five day season runs Monday-Friday. The second six day season runs Saturday-Thursday. The third seven day season runs Friday-Thursday. The fourth seven day season runs Friday-Thursday. The last or fifth season is also seven days running Friday-Thursday. You must apply for a PIKE county, IL. permit through the DNR conservation service. Call 217-782-7305 the first drawing usually starts December first. 

      We have large flocks of wild turkey. Our average two to three year old birds are in the 20-25 pound area! With individual old Toms that have ranged from twenty six to as high as thirty-two pounds. It is not unusual to hear from fifteen to twenty-five gobblers of a morning.
